I have worked as a Senior Commercial Photographer/ Photo Studio Coordinator for Radio Shack, Circuit City and the Source for over 31 years, while owning and operating my own retail business for 7 of those same years. I have also sold Advertising space for newspapers and been a Department Manager for K-Mart overseeing the Camera, Jewelry and Music departments in 2 of their retail locations at the same time. (Barrie and Orillia) Recently Bell Canada bought the Source and many senior staff members with long service were immediately and permanently laid off, including myself. My annual evaluations as an employee had always been in the exceptional category and I will use my former bosses as references for future employment. Due to Digital imaging, Commercial Photography jobs are in a steep decline so I have decided to find quality alternate employment sooner than later.
