My studio is 600 square feet of photo dreams. The studio is not a business. For 31 years I did commercial photography, mostly electronics, but electronics gets boring. There is no personal interaction with a DVD player. I did people for publication as well. Mostly photos of people using electronics and images that were just there to give human warmth to a page. It’s kind of funny as it’s almost a hobby for me, yet I seem to be a hobby for several model friends. Some models are professional and some are attractive people that just enjoy posing and getting photos done, other find it a way to get artistic. Recently I shot 3 women (on different dates) that have self esteem issues. They wanted to come somewhere safe where they could push their boundaries and vent with a mature male. It was an eye opening fulfilling experience for them and me too. Each woman had referred the next to me after her positive experience in my studio. I am very fortunate as I am often granted more freedom with many models because I am trustworthy and reliable. I have one main rule and it is … NO ONE does anything that they don’t want to, but I have the right to ask for a pose. The model can confidently and friendly say no thank you and we continue on as friends. There is no pressure as another model will do the shot another day, but I can ask so a possible opportunity is not lost. Normally we will talk before a shoot and if you are local I often propose meeting for a coffee where you can say hi face to face and hopefully feel comfortable and ask any questions you may have. Out-of-towners … ask me anything. I am very open and honest. I would rather scare you off and have everyone happy then have a problem of any kind. If you are coming from out of town I send you a map and give you the studio phone number. The studio is fairly easy to find. I shoot indoors in the studio and also sometimes I will do outdoor shoots as well. |
